Management Blitz

This one-day workshop will introduce you to a proven technique which will allow you to have successful conversations with team members and colleagues. The content has been designed to enable managers, supervisors and team leaders to get the most out of emotionally charged and challenging conversations in the workplace.

Course Overview

Good managers don’t need to have all the answers—but they do need the right mindset and tools to bring out the best in others.

 

In this energising session, we cover the core principles of people-centred management in a fast, interactive format. You’ll learn practical skills you can apply straight away, reflect on your own leadership style, and explore what it really means to create a happy, high-performing team.

 

Once a week for nine weeks, join us Live Online via Zoom at 12.30pm on Monday afternoon for 45 minutes and discover this week’s management technique. The following week will start with 15 minutes sharing how it all went followed by 30 minutes on the new topic and challenge for the coming week.

Week 1 – Listen: Simply listen to your people, and show that you understand and value their input.

Week 2 – The question challenge: In your next team meeting and next 1-to-1, ask only questions.

Week 3 – Psychological safety: Creating a no blame culture where people feel free to raise concerns and take risks.

Week 4 – Be a good coach: The most important behaviour of a manager, simple steps to being a good coach.

Week 5 – Effective Feedback: discover a 4 stage model for giving any type of feedback to anyone.

Week 6 – Strengths: Discover your strengths. Help your people find their talents and work to them.

Week 7 – Pre-Approval: The highest level of trust in delegation. Approve the solution before they’ve thought up the solution. Freedom within guidelines.

Week 8 – Motivation: Understand what truly motivates people. Ensuring opportunities for mastery, autonomy and purpose.

Week 9 – Review and ongoing commitment: Recap on the key messages. Reflect on the behaviours that you want to continue with and how you will embed them long-term.

For Live Online Interactive Learning sessions (webinars)

The course will run remotely for a full day consisting of three 90-minute live online sessions with independent work in between. 

All learners will need to install Zoom on their machines. Full technical requirements are on the Zoom website. Your link will be included in your joining instructions once you have booked your place — if you haven’t received this email then please contact our team.

Learners should log into the session 10 minutes before the start time to ensure that they have downloaded and set up Zoom correctly. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. Unfortunately you will be asked to leave and attend a different day if you arrive more than 15 minutes late for online sessions, and more than 30 minutes late for classroom sessions.

For classroom sessions

All public classroom sessions take place at Happy’s HQ in London at Robert Dolan House, 9 Alie Street, London E1 8DE. Please see our Contact Us page for full directions and a PDF map.

The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (lunch is served 1pm to 1:45pm — we offer a choice of 3 cold bowl dishes). Please be careful to arrive by 9:45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.

FAQs

What if I have a Mac?

If you are a Mac user, please let us know when booking. If the course is held in the classroom at Happy, the training is held on PCs so we recommend that you bring your Macbook with you (we are not able to provide an additional monitor).

 

For online training, please let us know when booking and you can use your Mac as normal. 

We provide a PDF with shortcuts for Mac users and your trainer will refer to this throughout the training.

I work in the public sector or for a charity. How do I claim my discounted rate?

If you are eligible for a discounted rate you will see this on the final stage of the shopping cart after you have either logged in or set up your account (if you are a new user). Discount codes can also be added on this final page.

I can’t attend my course. Can I rebook or cancel my place?

For our public dates, if you give us at least 14 days’ notice, you can rebook on another date or cancel your place at no extra cost. For less than 14 days, there is a charge – please see our Terms and Conditions for full details. If a colleague can take your place, no extra fee applies (even if it’s at the last minute).


For private group bookings, there is no charge if you give us at least 28 days’ notice. Cancellations after this time will incur 100% of the cost of the course. Please speak to your Account Manager or email speak to our friendly team.

What qualification do I receive after my course?

After attending your course, you will receive a certificate of attendance.   If your chosen course is certified by the CPD Certification Service, you can track and log your hours of learning using the myCPD Portal.
